John Coy - author

John is a dedicated author and speaker, sharing his work and thoughts with kids, teachers, librarians, and teens. He often writes about experiences, characters, and situations that appeal to boys. John has worked with the NBA on their literacy initiative, traveled abroad to talk about writing, reading, and publishing books, and he has taken his students out onto the basketball court between poetry exercises— whatever engages children with words, writing, and reading. In a recent keynote speech for the University of Minnesota's Book Week, John talked with educators about engaging boys in reading with books that interest them, giving practical methods and inspirational encouragement.
