| Kate DiCamillo - author | ||||
Kate DiCamillo is the beloved author of the Newbery Honor book, Because of Winn-Dixie and the Newbery Medal winner, The Tale of Despereaux. Another novel, Tiger Rising, was a finalist for the National Book Award. Movies have been made of two of her books, Because of Winn-Dixie and The Tale of Despereaux. Her Mercy Watson books, early chapter books, feature a porcine wonder who loves toast. Two picture books, Great Joy and Louise, the Adventures of a Chicken, tell stories in the way only Kate DiCamillo can. She lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kate is booked through 2011. We will post a notice when we begin to book 2012 speaking engagements for her. She speaks at public events, but does not speak to writing groups or at schools. |
