Kerry Madden - author

Author and writing instructor, Kerry enjoys working with students of all ages in her popular writing workshops. Kerry's writing workshops get young writers to explore their favorite secret places through the five senses. She helps them discover their voices as storytellers by describing and illustrating their favorite secret places. They will learn to see their unique and beautiful stories as paintings with words.

Fee: $1,000 for Alabama conferences and schools (multiple days negotiable); $1,200 for conferences and schools outside of Alabama

One- to two-day conferences, speaking up to two one-hour sessions and critiquing manuscripts or participating in a panel.

Elementary, middle grade, and high school may include up to four 50-minute sessions, with a 10-minute break between presentations, or a combination with an auditorium presentation to a larger group. Teacher in-service presentations day before, evening before, or day of school visit.

For trips more than 50 miles from author's home, host will pay transportation, hotel, and meals.
