Kate McMullan - author

As a former fourth- and sixth-grade teacher, and author of more than 100 books for children, Kate thoroughly enjoys speaking to elementary students about the many sources for stories and how to tap into their own lives for potential writing ideas. This theme runs through her “Behind the Garbage Bags” presentation (to explain the research behind I Stink!), as well as her “The Dragon Slayers’ Academy Show,” with a focus on what makes an exciting story, and the use of sensory language and humor—based on her popular fantasy series of the same name.
