Scott began as an illustrator for such publications as Time, Esquire, Rolling Stone and the New York Times. Having worked as an art director and having taught at the prestigious Pratt Institute, Scott has a great deal of experience coaxing the best out of artists, and he enjoys working with schoolchildren to do just that. For drawing workshops, he likes to work with smallish groups of two or three classrooms to achieve maximum results. For larger audiences, he offers a PowerPoint presentation of the illustration and creative process. And to encourage youngest children to tap into their inner story sources (as well as gratitude) he does a "What makes me happy?" presentation inspired by his book Taking a Bath with the Dog.
Fee:
$800 in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut); $1,000 plus lodging and travel (from his home in New York City) elsewhere; three presentations
