Rich Wallace - author

Rich Wallace is a former reluctant reader and high school athlete who grew up to become a children’s book author. He writes primarily about sports, and his books encourage children to strive to do their best and realize their potential despite mistakes that are made during their pursuits. Rich is the author of several books set in Sturbridge, Pennsylvania, including Wrestling Sturbridge, an ALA Top Ten Best Books for Young Adults, and he is also the author of the popular Winning Season series for younger readers. He has worked as a sportswriter and news editor, and as senior editor of Highlights for Children magazine.

Fee: $1200 for conferences and schools (multiple or half-days negotiable)

Elementary and middle school visits may include up to four one-hour sessions with a 10-minute break between sessions. Teacher’s in-service or PTA presentation evening before, or day of, school presentation in lieu of one student presentation. For trips more than 50 miles from author’s home, host will pay transportation, hotel, and meals.
